You cannot open a SharePoint site on the SharePoint server it self? Or Search is giving you strange issues as not able to find the website URL? Or you use Integrated Reporting Services with the SQL Reporting Services installed on the same sever as the SharePoint WFE and it it doesn't seem to work?

First try to set the DisableLoopbackCheck on te server and start trying again.

Based on KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926642/en-us

  1. Click Start > type regedit and hit enter
  2. Click Yes on the User Account Control warning
  3. Browse to HKLM > System > CurrentControlSet > Control > Lsa
  4. Click in the right window part and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
  5. Type: DisableLoopbackCheck
  6. Double click the new created DisableLoopbackCheck, give below value and click OK
    1. Value data: 1 (Hexadecimal)
  7. Close the registry editor
  8. Reboot the server
